“O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” Psalm 104:24
The often quoted Matthew 6:25-26 Scripture brought to mind a recent experience. I observed a flock of geese enjoying a pool of water created by a lawn sprinkler. The water expanded from the grassy area and spilled onto the street. The geese splashed in the water for over two hours.
Just as a nearby church service concluded, the geese were ready to cross the street. The geese (at least a dozen) slowly, single-file, crossed the street. Cars waited in an extended line. As we waited in the line of cars, I noted that no one honked or appeared to be impatient. Rather, all seemed to silently enjoy a few moments of awe and wonder.
God creates so much for us, if we only take a moment to experience it. What will we notice today?
Prayer: Dear God, remind us to “Stop, Look, and Listen” for your marvelous creation all around us. Amen.
