Great News

The Lord says in Isaiah: I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless. Isaiah 13:11

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Matthew 24:40

There is so much evil in the news today it hard to take it all in. I have heard so many say they cannot listen to the news anymore. It was helpful to know from the words in Isaiah that punishment is the Lord’s work. We only need to be in control of what we do. We can pray and ask God to bring peace to the world and know He is in charge.

The Matthew verse tells us we can be the one taken to heaven as The Henry Morris Study Bible says in its notes about this verse, “His coming—that is, the sudden rapture of believers—is the theme here. The one taken is caught up to be with the Lord, while his fellow worker, and unbeliever, is to endure the tribulation.”

Prayer: Dear Father in Heaven, please help those in Afghanistan who are afraid and hurting. Please be with those in Haiti that have lost family and homes. Help us to be thankful for the homes and country we have. Help us to continue to make it better and stay away from what is evil: wickedness, arrogance, haughtiness, and pride. Give us wisdom to be humble. Help us to believe your truths in the Bible. Amen
