My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me. Matthew 26:38
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked his disciples for support and comfort. Unfortunately, they did not understand and went to sleep. When they awoke, Judas had arrived, and it was too late.
Many times in our life, our family and friends ask for our support and understanding. We should always be careful to hear those requests, and act upon them when possible. Pleas for help and understanding are not always 100 percent clear, and it may take some reading between the lines to hear and understand what our friends or loved ones are trying to tell us. In short, we need to listen, understand and attempt to help before it is too late.
Prayer: Lord, help us be responsive to the needs of those around us. Amen.
