At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father for this is what you were pleased to do. Mathew 11:25-26
Where is the wise man? Where is the
scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the
wisdom of the world? 1 Corinthians 1:20
The man without the Spirit does not accept
the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him,
and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1
Corinthians 2:14
We have not received the spirit of the
world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has
freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2:12
If anyone will not welcome you or listen
to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. I
am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes
and as innocent as doves. Matthew 10:14,16
Sometimes the most educated, the oldest and the ones
with the most money or power get things wrong. Jesus noticed this when he was
on our world. Max Lucado, New York Times best-selling Christian author, said in
his Matthew Life Lessons study book, “Since the time of Moses, Israel had been
in possession of God’s law, including the Lord’s clear-cut commands and
provisions for the Sabbath, the weekly day of rest and reflection. But over the
centuries, the Jewish leaders had turned it all into a confusing and
soul-destroying system. Then Jesus entered the scene and made a startling
invitation.”
Today, there are learned, wise leaders and writers
that cannot accept the simple invitation Jesus gives us to believe in him and
God’s creation of the world. We have to accept Jesus as our Savior to
understand the great gift God gave us when he gave his son because of His love
for us.
Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, please open our
eyes to see the great gift you have revealed to us in your scriptures. Help us
to look at your world and believe you are the creator, and you sent your son to
be our Saviour because you love us. Please forgive us when we listen to wisdom
of the world that denies Jesus. Give us strength to spread your Word- as sheep
among the wolves- to unbelievers. Amen.
