Blessings of Summer

Scripture:

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.  Luke 6:21-23a

I just saw pictures from our three weeks of family gatherings of Grandmother's Boot Camp 2016. What a blessing to have family! Every year we celebrate GMBC somewhere. Bryce started calling it Boot Camp when we went to Platte River State Park three years in a row. Tennis lessons started at 9:00 am on the tennis courts across from the cabin. The grandkids would show up before I finished my breakfast with their tennis racquets. The lessons would go for an hour and then everyone would join for family tennis until noon and then we would eat and go to the pool.

Since those years we have had GMBC in many places like Washington D.C., Lake of the Ozarks, Copper Mountain ski resort, Estes Park, Flippin Arkansas, Table Rock Lake, Lake Panorama etc. These fourteen years have been a great blessing for Bryce and myself.

Before this happened, I went through a great deal of depression after suffering rejection and wondering if I would ever have family life again. Now I leap for joy.

Prayer: Dear Father in heaven, you are so good. Your word is always true. All of the answers to our struggles are in your book. Thank you. Amen.
